RESPONSIBILITIES
zeroShadow is seeking a lead of business development and go-to-market (GTM) strategies to accelerate recurring revenue subscriptions to exceed $5M per year. This would include both new business and focusing on optimizing the renewal of existing contracts. The Head of Business Development/GTM Specialist is responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding market presence. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategy Development:

    • Defines and implements the business development strategy aligned with company goals.\

    • Identifies key growth markets, customer segments, and new revenue opportunities.

    • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define the GTM strategy for new product & service launches.

    • Develops messaging and positioning aligned with the target audience and value proposition.

  • Market and Competitive Analysis:

    • Conducts market research to assess trends, competitor positioning, and potential risks.

    • Evaluates industry shifts to adapt strategies proactively.

    • Identifies target market segments and customer personas.

 

  • Partnership Management:

    • Identifies, negotiates, and manages partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures.

    • Develops strategic relationships with key stakeholders to expand market reach.

 

  • Sales and Revenue Growth:

    • Works with sales and marketing to identify and drive revenue-generating opportunities.

    • Defines targets, key performance indicators (KPIs), and goals for business development and sales teams.

    • Coordinates the planning and execution of product launches across marketing, sales, and product teams.

 

  • Team Leadership:

    • Builds, mentors, and manages the business development team, aligning team efforts with strategy.

    • Provides coaching and training to improve team performance and drive results.

 

  • Client Acquisition and Retention:

    • Leads efforts to acquire new clients and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts.

    • Develops and implements client retention strategies to maximize lifetime value.

 

  • Deal Structuring and Negotiation:

    • Structures, negotiates, and finalizes contracts with clients and partners.

    • Ensures that all agreements align with business objectives and compliance requirements.

 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Works closely with product, marketing, finance, and operations teams to support business goals.

    • Ensures alignment across departments for a cohesive go-to-market and growth strategy.

 

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Monitors key metrics, such as revenue growth, deal closures, and market share.

    • Regularly reports on business development activities, results, and insights to executive leadership.

 

  • Brand and Market Positioning:

    • Works on brand positioning and corporate messaging in new and existing markets.

    • Represents the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.

  • Sales Enablement:

    • Prepares sales teams with training, tools, and materials for effective product positioning.

    • Develops sales playbooks, scripts, and objection-handling guides.

 

  • Campaign Development:

    • Works closely with marketing teams to create multi-channel campaigns supporting the GTM plan.

    • Develops content, promotions, and advertising strategies tailored to product launches.

 

This role requires strategic thinking, excellent relationship-building skills, and a strong understanding of market dynamics to drive business growth effectively.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Position: This engagement can be done as either a contractor or a full time employee.

  • Location: The ideal  location will be in the EMEA region to cover customers spanning all time-zones.

  • Travel: Reasonable travel to conferences and events globally.

  • Experience: The candidate must have more than three years of exemplary sales experience in the crypto/blockchain industry and have shown examples of innovative thinking, relationship/network building and passion for the crypto/blockchain space.
